Shanghai Office Contact

Based in Shanghai, Dr. George Dai (Business Development Officer) facilitates the work of U of T’s faculties and divisions in China in close collaboration with the Office of the Vice-President, International in Toronto.

George was born in Yangzhou City, P.R. China. He received master’s degree in engineering, graduated as doctor in management, and his professional title is IT Senior Engineer. In his part time, he also serves as the Chair-Person of Chapter of Canada of Shanghai Overseas Returned Scholars Association, and the Executive Director of the China Association of Regional Economic.

George has a rich international experience, particularly in China, for government and business. He worked and lived in Canada for nearly four years; he used to serve as Deputy Director of the Foreign Economic Commission and Investment Promotion Office of Shanghai District-level Government, Vice President of a provincial state-owned enterprise group, and Vice President of a Provincial Overseas Friendship Association. He was honorably invited to attend the APEC CEO Summit.

Beijing Office Contact

Rikki Zhao is the Director, China Partnerships based in Beijing. Rikki provides on-the-ground resources for divisions and Vice President portfolios in China, contributing to the further development of U of T’s academic partnerships, alumni engagement, recruitment and student orientation, and government engagement. She works closely with our Hong Kong office as well as with George Dai, our Business Development Officer in Shanghai.

From 2015 to 2019, Rikki had been the Senior Manager of Global Admission and Collaboration in the MBA Program of School of Economics and Management at Tsinghua University. She previously worked at the MBA Program of Guanghua School of Management at Peking University. Her experience also includes working at the Embassy of India, Beijing as well as time as a TV journalist and as a radio production assistant in China. She has a Master of Public Policy from Pepperdine University in California and a BA in English Literature from Capital Normal University, Beijing.
